The main case bolts are shown here for illustration only. They won't get used until the OD is mounted to the transfer case.
The one bolt that's not inserted requires another "special" O-ringed washer.
The full length of this bolt is exposed w/in the main case, so the bolt head itself needs to be sealed to prevent oil leaks. Thread sealant would do nothing here.
